It was said when Richard Burris (D-Il) first accepted Blagojevich's nomination that he had nothing to lose. Turns out, that's not the case. He's being investigated by Illinois for perjury, and by the Senate Ethics Committee.

He lied about raising funds for Balgojevich. Flat out lied. Because he wanted his one, last, shot at being somebody in politics. How desperate do you have to be, to make a national fuss about getting your Senate seat, while lying about how you got the appointment?
